A Very Merry Christmas

We had a very wonderful Christmas Season, We let the kids vote again this year about whether they would like to have a traditional Christmas with presents, or if they would like to take a Family Trip. They voted for the family trip. So, we had a fun, interesting vacation to Washington DC and Virginia Beach. We stayed for a week and enjoyed seeing all of the sights that we have seen in pictures and on TV for all of our lives. Even though it was pretty chilly, we had a great time together and made some memories. Here is a taste of the fun!

Looks like you had a great trip. I ask my kids the same question every year and sadly, they still want presents. (maybe has something to do with them being 10,7 and 2.) Someday I hope to follow in your tradition. I love Washington D.C. It is an amazing place to visit.
ps. this is Mara, not Jason

Hey Mara,
Take them somewhere so darn fun that they will never forget it! We have found that after a few months, they can't clearly remember what gifts they receieved last Christmas, but they certainly remember the time the whole family sat on a beach in Hawaii, or saw the White House! Last year, we went with my sister and her family. That made it even better!
